Esol students turn up en masse to lobby MPs

Between 500 and 1,000 UK Esol students and their teachers attended a mass lobby of Parliament in late February to protest proposed cuts in free Esol provision which would mean most students would have to pay a third of course fees from September. Ireland’s Medical Council plans to start testing the English language skills of doctors from the EU who are seeking full (permanent) registration.
