e-Business: The Way Forward
5-6 December 2005 - Cambridge (UK)European Conference
The Conference will bring together high-level policy makers, academics and stakeholders from the business community in Europe.
Its objectives are to:
-take stock of successful public policy initiatives for the promotion of e-business practices by European enterprises, in particular SMEs
-present the current picture in terms of e-business uptake by European enterprises, notably at the sectoral level
-provide an overview of recent developments in the area of e-skills
-report about the state of play on removing cross-border legal barriers for electronic business, including B2B electronic markets
-highlight relevant work in standardisation and interoperability of e-business solutions at European level
-discuss the Way Forward in the area of e-business policies and set the path for appropriate policy developments
The results of the Conference will constitute the basis for establishing thematic priorities for policy action on e-business related issues, at both national and European level.
